Chasing Famous: Living the Life You’ve Always Auditioned For

April 21
by Lisa Lloyd
Ever want to be famous? Okay, maybe not like a celebrity, but within your own world?  I recently read a book that gave me a great perspective on my gifts and glorifying God in everyday life. It really resonated with me as she shared her own story along the way.  Continue reading about the complimentary book I received from the publisher (and you will also find a giveaway)!
The author has divided the book up into three sections: 1.) sharing her story, 2.) how gifts are for the glory of God and 3.) and how to glorify God in everyday life.

THE AUTHOR’S STORY
The author’s story had me in tears. Reading about her choices had me mad at her even. Yet, when I continued reading, God’s love showed up. I had no choice but to feel her pain and love her as a fellow sister in Christ.  I don’t feel so alone in my own brokenness and mean imperfections.
GIFTS
I related to the author as she tried justifying her career choices. I spent the last several years doing the same thing, only to find myself without a job. Yes, I ended up right where God wanted me.  While I resisted all that time, I have found myself happier in this new place.  The author has also found peace in choosing God’s direction over hers, even when they were different desires.  The author also writes about how several women of the Bible were blessed because of their obedience.  I have neglected using my spiritual gift; after reading this book, I am excited to trample my insecurities and get busy being the teacher God has made me be.
EVERY DAY LIFE
This section of the book covers thoughts, the tongue, perspective (yours vs. God’s), anger and unforgiveness and so much more that pertains to everyday life. I will be going back through this section of the book as I need to implement so much of it!
The book includes Scripture throughout the book. I encourage you to open your Bible and highlight those passages that really speak to you about your life.
I hope you will choose to live today and every day ALL FOR GOD’S GLORY…
