Does your family have a night devoted to just family time? Is it called a game night? …electronics-free time? …a family meeting?
Our family currently spends way too much time apart. Whether we are separated by walls in our home or by outside activities, it has gotten to be way too often for this mom’s liking. I’ve been wanting to devote a certain day of the week to family time, where we all interact. It’s just not happening for various reasons: soccer practice, church services, mom’s just too tired, someone had to work late, school event, etc..
I’m tired of the excuses. Reading All-In2Night: Christian Activities for Families, I’ve been given the boost needed to make this happen. Not only has the author shown me the importance of choosing a night and enforcing the weekly time together, she has provided do-able and enjoyable ways to interact with my family. The kiddos actually look forward to our time together, as we aren’t having a boring Scripture reading. Instead, we are using Scripture to lead with as we teach them something applicable to their lives and have a little fun along the way. This book of activities has also helped me get back on track with God and really think about how I’m spending my life day by day.
I received a copy of this book from the publisher through BookCrash in exchange for my honest review. You can get a copy here to use during your weekly family time.
About the Book All-In2Night: Christian Activities for Families by Lynne Burgess
All-In 2Night is a family routine. For one night of the week everyone stays home. By spending ten to twenty minutes together, you can learn and talk about the things that matter. Following on from Lynne’s original book this set of new activities is designed especially with Christian families in mind. The book includes 40 weeks of activities, designed as 1 per week of the school year. Activities include love languages, listening for God, self-esteem, the fruits of the spirit and many more. These family activities provide an opportunity to grow values, goals, hopes, feelings and the foundation for a Christ led life.
