Being an intentional mom doesn’t mean you take life seriously all of the time; nor is being an intentional mom to a preschooler an easy feat. It takes self-care to keep up with their energy and meltdowns.  Self-care is something we can no longer neglect, no matter how busy raising kids keeps us. Once you have the habit of self-care in place, you can enjoy the preschool years a bit easier with these tips.

Mom Tips to Enjoy the Preschool Years

Those preschoolers are busy little tykes. Often running around, requiring extra attention and having quite a short attention span. Finding something that holds your preschooler’s interest is no easy feat. Here are some tips on how to enjoy the preschool years.

Mom Tip #1: Enjoy Adventures

Mom Tips to Enjoy the Preschool Years

Preschoolers have a vivid imagination, there’s nothing happier to them than being able to go on a pretend adventure with their mom. Take time each day to enjoy adventures with your preschooler. You can incorporate reading at this time as you reenact what the story is telling. Grab some rags, clothes and other household items to play the part appropriately. You may want to snack on healthier options like nut mix to keep your energy consistent during playtime.

Mom Tip #2: Enjoy a Daily Time of Relaxing

Whether you preschooler is all about sleeping for a two-hour nap or not, you can start having a daily time to relax. This would be a 2-3 hour time during the late morning or early afternoon where quiet time is to be had. Curl up with a book to read to your preschooler as they lay snuggled on the couch or bed for their relaxing time. You can diffuse relaxing essential oils during this time so that the home environment feels calmer for your preschooler’s time to rest.

Mom Tip #3: Enjoy Making Snacks Together

There are many preschooler friendly snacks that are fun to make together. Consider gathering up your favorite kid-friendly recipes and get into the kitchen with your preschooler. This may be a messy activity but it’s a great way to bond with your preschooler. Snacks that have organic honey in the ingredients will make for a healthier sweet treat too, so try to find recipes that offer this natural sweetener option. Be prepared to enjoy some laughter and smiles with your preschooler as you make snacks together.
