Faithful Finish Lines – Week 4 #faithfulfinishlines

Faithful Finish Lines - Week 4 of the faith and fitness program that helps you with setting goals for healthy eating and fitness.

Today I am sharing my progress in Faithful Finish Lines.

I admit I had a hard time with this week’s goal – cutting down my pop intake.  It’s always been this way with my pop. If my heart isn’t into quitting the sugary calorie loaded product, I don’t.  Actually I usually drink more when I’m just not ready to give it up.  Yet, I do want to give it up eventually and for good.  I’ve been there and know that I can do it.

I’ve given up pop before…

Once for six months.  Another time for a year and a half. So why did I start drinking it again?

I’ve always been an all or nothing kind of girl when it comes to habits and drinking pop. I can’t limit myself to just one every day. If I’m drinking pop, I’m drinking it all day long.  That’s why I can’t cut down or have it as a special treat.  That’s how I went from being a non-drinker to consuming it like crazy.

When I’m ready, I will give up my pop.

I think I’m almost there, but when I do give it up, I want it to be for good.  Maybe tomorrow?  Maybe next week?  We will see…

At the beginning of the year, I sat out to live a life that I absolutely love.  Instead of setting goals for the year, in which I never meet, I decided I would choose a few smaller goals each month to work on.  That would keep me working on my goals regularly instead of waiting until October or November to try to crunch in those goals that needed all year to succeed.

One of my goals for January was to have stronger legs.  My plan was to do squats and lunges every day building up to a good strong number with the endurance my legs would come to know.  Well how did that go, you ask?

I waited until January 24th to do my first squat!  Nothing like waiting until the last minute!  That’s me though.  Yet, I’m proud of myself for starting and fitting them in three days so far.  Thanks to the encouragement of one of my mentors at Faithful Finish Lines, I decided to only do them there times a week.  January 2015 Goal Results - Stronger Legs - What's your goal - thismomsdelight.com

Day 1 – 30 squats (way more than I thought I could do)

Day 2 – 50 squats

Day 3 –  50 squats

Yay, me!  I’m super excited that I am actually reporting in the last day of January that I have accomplished something!  It’s not a super big accomplishment in the eyes of many, but it exactly that to me.  I am looking forward to continuing with this goal in the month of February, hoping to see a bigger number.

As far as the lunges go, they’ll come one day.
