“Not only does God love science — He is the greatest scientist of all!” – Louie Giglio
I want to teach my son about science. Yet, so many books have made up garbage. I was fortunate to receive a complimentary copy of the book shared within. I has beautiful illustrations to go with the wonderful facts about science – and the creator of it all. I love the image of God the author creates for me: “…Think about God as a scientist in a lab coat.”
The reading level is for older children, yet we are using it as a supplement to our preschool curriculum. While science isn’t really necessary at this age, learning about God is important. I could easily use this in our Sunday School class, as well. At home, I have been reading the devotions and learning something new almost every day. For example, I am fascinated by the odd way starfish eat. Look it up! Then I show the illustrations to my son as I share what I’ve learned. The prayer prompts are simple enough to use for his prayer time, as well as great starters for my own.
In the front of the book is an index of the four major topics: space, earth, animals and people. You can read them by topic or in the order they are written in the book. We are starting with animals, then going back through the people devotions. Space and earth will follow.
This book is a wonderful way to encourage a love for reading and science.
It’s impossible to out-imagine God. He orchestrates time, creates light, and speaks things into existence—from the largest stars to the smallest starfish. God is a powerful, purposeful, personal, unparalleled Creator.
Psalm 19:1 says, “The heavens tell the glory of God. And the skies announce what his hands have made.”
