Do you have a favorite children's book author? I now do! Bonnie Rickner Jensen is overtaking my son's bookshelf. We have three of her books and will continue to collect and read her books as she writes more. They encourage parent and child time together quality time while instilling a quality message into the child's heart. The three books we have are:
A Very Thankful Heart
Fall brings about a heart of gratitude for me. I welcome the season with thanksgiving and I want my child to learn an attitude of thanksgiving, as well. Reading “A Very Thankful Prayer” this week has helped initiate that idea into my son's world. It has also helped me to be more intentional on a daily basis to encourage thanksgiving, even in the little things.
As we turned the pages, my son found the perfect way to start his day. He saw thanks being given for the different types of seasons and the food that grows, as well as for our families and friends who are given to us by God. His favorite page was the one about pumpkin patches. Guess where we are going now! He is making plans to do the things he learned about in this book; I'm experiencing his heart and head soak up the goodness of God.
Each page is colorful and eye-catching. The book itself is a thin board book that will hold up to being read many times over … first by me, by my son as he learns to read.
I received a complimentary copy of this book. However, I would have gladly purchased a copy had it not been provided to me.
