Five Authors I Really Want to Meet

May 12

I love reading. Behind those words within a book is a person, the author. Some authors really feel like friends as they talk to you through their words within a book.

If I had to pick just one author to meet face-to-face, I would choose:

1. Elizabeth George

She had a huge impact on my spiritual growth when my two oldest kiddos were younger. I read several of her books and worked my way through the study guide questions that came with the books. I really learned a lot about God and my role as wife, mom and God’s child. I would love to meet her and just listen to whatever she had to say in person about her walk with the Lord and role as wife and mom. Since I don’t see that happening anytime soon, I think one of her books would come in handy. I’ve been letting my spiritual walk go by the wayside having a toddler and so much else grabbing for my attention. More About Elizabeth George
Next in line would be, in no particular order:

2. Tsh Oxenreider

Her book Organized Simplicity inspired me to get my house in shape way back when I first read it. Plus, I love the spiral binding! Because of the many demands on me at the time, I didn’t apply her book in full. However, I saw hope in the possibility of having the clutter-free welcoming home I’ve always desired. With us having to move some stuff for the repairman to fix our garage door, I’ve developed an itch to get rid of some things. I have been flipping through her book once again to see how I should best use this itch to my advantage. I’d just love to meet her in person to see her home. My curiosity wants to see how simple she truly lives. What an inspiration it would be to see!

3. Michael Hyatt

I first found Michael Hyatt through his blog. Then I discovered his podcast series This is Your Life, which is my favorite podcast of all time. He is so wise in the areas of leadership, blogging and personal relationships. I’d love to just listen to him talk about his marriage and meet his wife.

4. Michele Cushatt

While I enjoy listening to Michael Hyatt’s podcast, half of the reason is his co-host, Michele Cushatt. She is just as wonderful as Michael. I’d like to meet her to hear her about her journey through her recent illness. More about Michele Cushatt.

5. Sheila Wray Gregoire

I discovered this author when I first started reading books on marriage. I read one of her books which led me to the Wifey Wednesday Linkup at To Love, Honor and Vacuum. She has great advice on surviving and thriving in marriage. I think a chit chat with her would be quite interesting as she has talked about some things before I would never say out loud, but are important aspects in a marriage.
