Not an apple, but a blog post, a day will keep the doctor away. Okay, maybe not the doctor, but it had a nice ring to it.
I enjoy writing almost as much as I enjoy reading. I’ve put these two end of the day hobbies to the side for too long now. I’ve tried to fit them in, but I’m always too busy spending time with my family, working late or tending to other responsibilities. I’ve come to a point that I need some sort of outlet… Some ‘me’ time… Some encouragement through the written word, whether it be my own or another’s.
I talked to hubby and he’s going to help get some alone time in the evenings. Maybe not every evening, but if I can escape 2-3 nights, I think that might do me some good.
Don’t get me wrong. I love my life and all that is in it right now. I just want some quiet time to read and reflect. Constant noise is not good for anyone. Don’t you agree?
So, what am I going to write about?
Although I can’t commit to writing every day, I am seeking out my blogging friends for some ideas and inspiration:
Sisterhood Shots: November Photo-a-Day {SSNov}
I shared four pics and posts during the month of October. Did you read them? Day 1: Morning, Day 2: List of 4 Ways to Get Fit with the Family, Day 3 & 4: Breakfast Favorite and Day 5: Pantry Makeover. Not much, but I did it. I’m curious to see if I can beat that number this month. LOL I might even get in a few planks!
Ultimate Blog Challenge {UBC}
There’s a daily comment chain where bloggers comment two posts and then list a post. It’s a great way of sharing your post and finding some great content in return. Browse the posts already written and find some spark for a new post.
Battling the Post Baby Bulge: MOVE-ember {MOVE-ember}
I’m hoping to add some MOVEment to my thoughts about losing weight as I read this girl’s blog daily for real-life encouragement as I see how another mom puts into action what I’ve been daydreaming about.
This month is going to be MOVE-ember in my household as I finally up and get serious about embracing a healthier post-partum lifestyle! ~Sarah of Baby and Me.
Some of the Great Blogs I Follow
Just to name a few…

Hi Tamara,
Getting away and having “me” time is very healthy – your family will love you even more when you return to them with a peaceful smile and a relaxed heart.
I’m glad your hubby is ready to carry the load a few times a week – that makes such a big difference!
I look forward to reading more of your posts and see how much your MOVE-ember has done for you!
Hold on to your Creativity mom! If that is part of what makes you tick..and even if family life and the kids gets busy..don’t give up your creativity!
When I’m struggling for content ideas, I love to browse other blogs. There’s always something interesting I can write a response to.
Those are some great links there. Thank you for sharing these with us. I’m definitely going to check out the Ultimate Blog Challenge.
Good luck with getting some “you” time to do your writing/blogging!
Great blog! I will be reading frequently!
I’m currently finishing up a short little ebook on blog post inspiration. That’s awesome your husband is going to help you out!
I’m going through a similar thing on my blog! Finding time can be hard when life gets busy, I’ve decided it’s time to MAKE time instead =)
Good luck! You got this!
I agree! Setting aside time to write each day is important to me too. Some days I’m too tired, but gosh those 2-3 morning or nights per week recharge me.
Posting is a kind of me time…Great. Thanks for your blog challenge information.
Yay, me time! I actually think the phrase sounds selfish, but I just need a little time!
I like the idea of Ultimate Blog Challenge – off to check it out.. thank you
The next official challenge (with bells and whistles) is scheduled for January. What I described in my post is an unofficial challenge for November. Join in!
I need to make more time to blog each day–it’s just so hard to find the time with a new baby sometimes!
So, you have a new baby, Staci? What’s your blog on link? I’d like to visit.
great idea. i can do this with one of my blogs
How many blogs do you have, Stacie?
three: Perfect Chaos, Celibacy Diaries, and Stacie D. Wyatt.
You definitely got this! I know how hard it is to actually commit to a challenge, but I think with determination you can do it!
Thanks for the encouragement!
I try to draw inspiration from my daily life which is why I have my daily post called Happiness Is … I try to find one thing a day to blog about that made me happy even if just a small thing as the small things matter. I like that you are drawing a line and making some plans. I know you love your family but alone time is a necessity!
Agreed! Blogging is one of my favorite forms of therapy! 😛
I’ve tried to do one post a day, but I cannot keep up 😉 Need at least 2 days break per week.
Alex – Funky Jungle – Black Friday / Cyber Monday Deals!
Great suggestions. I’ll definitely keep these in mind when I need something to blog about. 🙂
This is my me time too. But the my husband comes into the office and my kids so it turns into our time. Sometimes a writing break is necessary!
Blogging for me is “me time”. I finally got hubby to understand that I need that time to myself. I’ve been keeping a journal with little notes of blog ideas. I hope to be writing all of them soon.
I know I could never commit to a daily blog post. I write when I feel inspired. I’ve had my blog for 6 years and there is always something to inspire me.
