Another Great Fiction Read: Not a Sparrow Falls by Linda Nichols
I have enjoyed reading christian fiction the last few months!
I just finished reading Not a Sparrow Falls by Linda Nichols. It’s amazing how you can relate to fictional characters.
The main character reminded me of some extended family members that have gotten wrapped up in a some bad choices. However, it was refreshing to see her want to escape from that lifestyle. Very few of my family members desire to get out of their rut.
The pastor’s spiritual life mirrored mine in that it’s been sitting in sludge lately. Will we ever crawl our way out of the mess and get back to a satisfying relationship with our Savior? Read the book and find out if the pastor does, and as far as I’m concerned, I’ll tell you that I am getting back into God’s Word and praying more! Be gone, sludge!
This is one of my favorites out of all the books I’ve read lately.
In this powerful story of redemption and love, a prodigal young woman from the hills of Virginia flees the men who have lured her away from a godly upbringing into a life of desperation. Taking on a new identity, Mary Bridget Washburn escapes to the bustling city of Alexandria. There her path crosses that of Alasdair MacPherson, a widowed pastor with three young children and daunting problems of his own. Mary Bridget longs to bring happiness to the deeply troubled family, but she seems an unlikely candidate to help. Has she fallen too far from grace to be able to pass it on? A heart-tugging tale about the extraordinary struggles that turn ordinary people into heroes.
Read the first chapter, or get your own copy and happy reading! Thanks to Bethany House for sending me a copy of this book, in exchange for my honest review.
