Calm, Cool, and Connected: 5 Digital Habits for a More Balanced Life

Information overload – check. Strong feelings – check. Difficult relationships – check.
As I read a complimentary copy of the above-pictured book, I saw a need to get a handle on the three things I just mentioned. I have issues with all three. I scored in the highest bracket in the quiz provided in the book. That’s not good! According to the quiz, I am “nowhere near calm, cool, and connected”. I do agree. The author states this book will help me “create distance” between me and my phone, so I can be closer to my loved ones.
The five habits are spelled out using the acronym HABIT. There are some practical tips in here that I can put to use. My worst habit is probably picking up my phone before even getting out of bed. I can see that thing as an idol after reading this book. Ugh!
I admit I am a task-oriented person. I have trouble putting relationships first. However, I have a new mindset and hope to be more intentional with this area.
I also love the idea of praying before accessing my phone or my laptop each and every time. We are supposed to be in continual prayer anyway. Why wasn’t I already doing this?!?
Okay, I slipped and shared a few of the goodies from this book. Read it and be encouraged to live a more balanced life.

I reviewed this book too, and it’s in my current giveaway. Even though I’m not much of a phone person, the book gave me great tips for being more proactive with my relationships. Looking forward to reading Total Christmas Makeover next!
Thanks for sharing. This book sounds great.
