I want to teach my son about science. Yet, so many books have made up garbage. I was blessed by FrontGate media with a complimentary copy of another one of Louie Giglio’s books. It has beautiful illustrations to go with the wonderful facts about science – and the creator of it all.
What I Liked Most About the Book
As a homeschooling family, I want to include God as much as possible into our daily learning lifestyle. For my active boy, it has to be fun. What isn’t fun about the way the author has set this book up?!?
It has an index! – This makes it easy to find all the devotionals about the North Pole or burping. Yes, burping is the topic of discussion in one of the devotions. That makes it fun!
It has cute cartoon-like illustrations! – This keeps my son’s focus as I read to him.
It teaches God’s truth! – It includes scripture from various translations of the Bible and the devotions we’ve read have been biblically accurate.
It is kid-sized! – It’s small enough we can carry it all around the house. We’ve even taken it with us on a nature walk because my son was determined to find the snake from one of the devotions. We didn’t find the snake; you know mommy is so happy! We usually end up doing a science activity, going on a nature walk or watching more videos about the topics he is most interested in.
It is bite-sized! The devotionals are only two pages which is a quick read for my busy boy.
In summary, the devotions are ideal for my 6-year-old boy. The devotions keep his attention, teach him about God, and show my son the connection between God and real life.
Who Should Read This Book
Any family who desires to teach their children about God and His wonderful creation should have a copy in their home. It is definitely a valuable resource for our homeschool family. I will probably even use it once I resume teaching the kiddos at church.
