Feeding My Historical Fiction Habit: An Inconvenient Beauty by Kristi Ann Hunter

Beautifully written.  I have to admit that when I first started reading this book, I rolled my eyes. The main male character’s intentions seemed ridiculous. (I can’t go into detail because that will ruin your chances to read the book for yourself.) Yet, as I continued reading, I saw him from a different perspective. You see, his personality is one I am familiar with but didn’t recognize it at first.

I absolutely fell in love with three of the characters. I pitied another. I would love to see how the story continues, not just with the main character but even with the pitied soul.  The deceit, hidden love and all the other factors playing a part in this magnificent story held my attention all the way through the book. It’s one of those books that disappoint you on the last page … only because it has ended! The story was well-written and had me staying up too late and anxious to see what was going to happen next.

Thank you to the publisher for the complimentary copy. It is going on my favorites bookshelf. I only keep the ones that I fall in love with. I hope to read them again when life slows down in my golden years. Kristi Ann, I will be reading more of your books!

About the Book

Award-Winning Regency Romance Author on the Rise Griffith, Duke of Riverton, likes order, logic, and control, and he naturally applies this rational approach to his search for a bride. He's certain Miss Frederica St. Claire is the perfect wife for him, but while Frederica is strangely elusive, he can't seem to stop running into her stunningly beautiful cousin, Miss Isabella Breckenridge. Isabella should be enjoying her society debut, but with her family in difficult circumstances, her uncle will only help them if she'll use her beauty to assist him in his political aims. Already uncomfortable with this agreement, the more she comes to know Griffith, the more she wishes to be free of her unfortunate obligation. Will Griffith and Isabella be able to set aside their pride and face their fears in time to find their own happily-ever-after?
