Christmas Board Books for the Baby

February 22

Just recently having a baby, my mind is geared for all things baby and toddler.  Being a lover or fanatic of books, I intend to pass on that love to my baby.

I have three new board books that I will be reading to my son this coming Christmas.  It’ll be here before you know it, as time flies faster as each year comes and goes.

My Very Little Christmas Story

My Very Little Christmas

This is a very small board book, perfect for baby’s little hands and to carry.  The story rhymes as it is told and I found myself wanting to sing along.

About the Book:

This engaging Bible story is retold in rhyme and accompanied by bright, playful, paper-collage illustrations. The small, chunky board book format and affordable price makes these especially appropriate as stocking stuffers or small gifts for groups of children.

Designed to appeal to little hands, My Very Little Christmas Story is ideal for early learners hearing these stories for the first time.

This board book tells the story in a little more detail than the book above.  I love the illustrations ss the characters nearly pip out at you, especially their cute little round noses.  A few of the pages have edges that stick out showing a rabbit, sheep and the star.

About the Book:

Explore the concept of faith in an approachable way with this fantastic board book that retells the Christmas story.

The colorful tabs, which feature a character or object poking out from between the pages, give children a clue to the rest of the scene and prompt them to pick a favorite. With enjoyable illustrations and child-friendly text, your favorite preschooler is sure to love this new addition to the Candle Tabs series.

This board book is the biggest of the three mentioned here.  I like this one because the child, if he or she can speak, can interact with the book’s content.  As you open each page, there is a question in the left side.  On the right side, there is a hard tab that allows you to open to an inner page with the answer.  Every page has a large picture in relation to the child and the answers.  This book makes a great review tool for the other too books.  Yes, even little ones can learn and remember the wonderful facts around Jesus’ birth!

About the Book:

Designed for young children, each spread features basic but appealing illustrations that depict the nativity story with a large and easy-to-lift flap to peek under to reveal the person that relates to each scene.

This captivating peek-a-boo style fosters the association of Bible characters with their stories and engages very small children as they are just beginning to discover God’s world around them.

I received these books from Kregel Publications in exchange for my honest review.
