Carrots or cake? I’d choose the cake!

Popular online food blogger Tina Haupert shares her strategies for maintaining weight and staying fit without all the stress and sacrifices. She also shares:
- more than fifty delicious recipes (learn how to make brownies extra rich without the extra fat),
- her workout strategies (laying out and organizing your week with plenty of time for exercise is a motivator), and
- lots of cool tips (before reaching for another cookie, find a five-minute distraction).
All of this great information is served up with plenty of awesome stories about Tina’s life, just like she shares on her avidly ready blog.
In reading this book, I found some new ideas for reaching my health goals. The ideas aren’t hard to incorporate either. I think my favorite one is “Cookie Friday”. On Fridays, hubby and I go out to lunch. That’s where lots of calories come into play. I will be using Tina’s smart “Cookie Friday” idea to still enjoy my lunch date and not kill my calorie goals.
I was also motivated by the fact that I won’t have to count calories forever. She states that calorie counting got boring, but over time you learn by practice sensible eating and healthy portions.
The author has introduced me to some new foods, such as wheat berries and I am looking forward to trying some of the recipes in the book. Many of them seem Tami-friendly — something simple enough for me to make.
While this book is not a Christian-themed book, which is what I mostly review, I would still recommend it to anyone trying to get on the right track with their physical health. The book was easy to read and was written as if she was sharing her health trials and errors with a friend — that being the reader. The author has taught me a few things and encouraged me to continue on my path to a healthier lifestyle.
I received a copy of the book from FSB Associates in exchange for my honest review. Read an excerpt or additional reviews.
